Open Call for young art professionals in Estonia

06.03.2023

De Structura is happy to open the call for participants in FRESH FABRIK workshop!

FRESH FABRIK is a transnational collaboration project among three art sector organisations from Malta, Estonia, and Hungary. The project's primary goal is to address the challenges that young professionals in the Cultural and Creative Sectors (CCS) are facing across the European Union.

De Structura is organising FRESH FABRIK in Estonia. In our 3-day workshop we will discuss institutional and legal frameworks, fundraising approaches, and advocacy efforts in the European art sector. As part of the workshop we will also create a report on those topics for the Reset! network and talk about opportunities for young art professionals at the European Forum Alpbach.

MORE INFO

FRESH FABRIK

FRESH FABRIK (2022-2024) is a transnational collaboration project among three cultural organisations from Malta, Estonia, and Hungary. The project aims to address the new skills’ needs in the cultural and creative sectors. As a partnership between I.T.E.M. Foundation from Hungary, De Structura from Estonia, and Gabriel Caruana Foundation from Malta, each partner contributes their expertise in advocacy, entrepreneurship, or fundraising. The project aims to increase awareness of the growing skill gaps and improve responsiveness to the structural challenges of the cultural sector. FRESH FABRIK will conduct three workshops and three multiplier events, as well as co-create the FRESH FABRIK online publication. The project is supported by the Erasmus+ Programme. These activities will provide participants with opportunities to work on real project ideas, fundraising strategies, and problem solutions, as well as connect with like-minded peers and improve their knowledge in their professional field.

De Structura

DE STRUCTURA is a multidimensional pan-European initiative that aims to create more opportunities for young people in the art sector. Young professionals in the cultural sector often face many obstacles when starting their careers, such as low salaries, unpaid starting positions, a closed professional network, and limited local opportunities. Although these problems have been studied and acknowledged by the European Union, they still persist.

De Structura has a two-fold mission. First, it aims to empower young art professionals by providing them with the necessary knowledge, connecting them with a larger community of art professionals, and creating frameworks for them to realise their ideas. Second, it aims to bring forward the knowledge and projects they create, make their ideas heard by institutions and decision-makers in the sector, and build bridges between art professionals and audiences without a background in the arts to facilitate collective action towards positive change.

Reset!

Reset! is a European network gathering and supporting independent cultural, media and creative organisations. The network involves 56 members from 22 countries. Reset! aims to highlight the fragile situation and specific needs of these independent actors, who are neither under the control of any public authorities nor affiliated with large private groups.

The purpose of the network is to work together and to redesign (reset) the cultural and media landscape in Europe around the shared values of pluralism, diversity, equality and sustainability, in an inclusive and circular economy.

Reset! federates these actors of diversity and pluralism in Europe, while amplifying their visibility and networking through a series of actions online and offline. Fragmented and isolated, the sector needs to be identified, supported, and gathered together to reach a critical mass and access recognition and transnational visibility.
