The fifth issue of A Shade Colder, Flesh in Tension is now available online. Read an interview with the artist Andrew McPhail, who resides in Tallinn this fall as part of the Nordic Artist Exchange program.
“In Tallinn I’m hoping to connect with the arts community and help to create links between them and artists here in Hamilton,” McPhail tells me.
The exchange is made possible through Hamilton’s Cotton Factory, the Hamilton Arts Council and Esti Kunstnike, that is, the Estonian Artists’ Association.“

The Young Painter Prize (YPP) project aims to support the dynamic new art and showcase the brightest and most promising young painters from the Baltic states. Furthermore, YPP aims to help both local and international art professionals – collectors, managers and curators – discover new talent from the Baltic states and promote emerging artists, thus supporting their careers and ensuring their exposure to the art market.
