Tekstiilikeskus Artist Residency 2026

The Textile Arts Centre (Tekstiilikeskus) announces open call for residency programme primarily designed for fiber and textile artists. Applications are also welcome from artists and writers in other fields who wish to immerse themselves in textile practices.The 2026 season runs May through September and offers 2–3‑week residencies for one artist at a time, up to eight residents in total. The residency cultivates an environment that fosters creativity, experimentation, and introspection for artists working within the textile field, and provides a platform for sharing skills, experiences, and connections.

The residency provides together with accommodation focused time and space for creative exploration and process-driven research in a peaceful small-town setting in Estonia. Residents have access to a well-equipped studio with a wide selection of tools and materials for textile practices, and may also join optional guided technique workshops. The programme also facilitates professional and cultural connections through studio visits, local excursions, and community events that introduce Estonia’s vibrant textile and fiber art scene. Additionally, residents are invited to contribute reflections or documentation to Koiliblikas, the magazine of the Estonian Textile Artists’ Association.

- CV (relevant experience)
- Short project proposal (what you plan to work on during the residency)
- Portfolio (selection of recent work; links or PDF)
- Preferred residency dates between May and September 2026

The residency fee is €100 per week, with meals not included and artists are responsible for covering their own living costs. Tekstiilikeskus team is happy to assist with travel questions and grant applications, and official confirmation letters are available upon request.
