Al Paldrok, Taje Tross, Siim Kuljus and Arvo Sailev in the composition of Non Grata will participate in the JiTan Live Art festival taking place on 19-25.09.2025 at the Han Tao Museum in Jinan, the birthplace of Confucius. China's recent political developments have led to a complete ban on performance art, and in such a situation, conducting performance art festivals is like walking on a knife edge, because law-abiding organizers-curators face imprisonment and the closing of museums-institutions. Non Grata will perform in 5 different cities across China, and exhibitions, artist talks, lectures and workshops in each city.
Introduction to Jinan Han Tao Art Museum
Jinan Han Tao Art Museum is a public welfare art museum, built based on the Xueye Scenic Area in Laiwu District, Jinan City. Its main functions include art exhibitions, education, collections, research and academic exchanges.
The art museum will always adopt an open attitude and forward-looking vision, explore new models of art museums in the contemporary social context, discover emerging artistic forces, and collide with international cultural exchanges.
The establishment of Han Tao Art Museum will improve the functional supporting structure of Xueye Scenic Area and better help Xueye go abroad and enter the international field of vision.
The museum exhibition hall is 5,000 square meters. The art museum is divided into: exhibition hall, cinema, indoor small theater, coffee shop, artist-in-residence creation area, and outdoor theater. The museum focuses on avant-garde art, art film and avant-garde drama. The cinema provides free movie screenings and open art classes to local primary school students all year round.
