Gallery of Kalamaja museum
September 28, 2024 – September 1, 2025
During the next year, an interactive installation exhibition of the artist group
--> Arrowgroup can be seen in the gallery of the Kalamaja museum.
It will be landing from the level of artistic reflections directly to the local background scenery.
In this sad and festive cross product of fairy tales, puns and bitter imagery yesterday, today and tomorrow, a stalled and an accelerated moment in time, are present at once.
Serious questions are referred to with humorous comparison and layering.
The exhibition combines collage, spatial installation and animation, bringing together shifted references to Kalamaja’s industrial history and possible visions of the future.
Artists have developed a next stage of the exhibition held in Haapsalu City Gallery in 2019, which placed viewers in the role of both the catch and the cather at the same time.
The installation reuses found materials, artworks and leftovers from previous exhibitions of the Tallinn City Museum and --> Arrowgroup.
--> Noolegrupp is an art group operating in the contemporary art field since 2004, formed by Triinu Jürves (b. 1974) and Villem Jahu (b. 1985). The group has primarily been active in creating site-specific installations involving audience, both in galleries, alternative exhibition spaces and in landscape.
