Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/363459047967706/
We will share the Zoom link under the Facebook event on Tuesday, 30 June.

Many governments have responded to Covid-19 lockdowns by offering crisis relief to the arts and culture sector. However, the information about existing support measures is quite fragmented and sometimes hard to understand without knowing the local context.
After our first event on 8 June with impulses from Austria, Estonia, Hungary and Poland, this conversation aims to map and analyse different models of crisis relief based on examples originating from Czech Republic, Romania, Russia and Slovenia. We feel that transnational exchange is needed now, as we are standing at the beginning of an economic recession.

We will seek answers to following questions:
- What have been responses to crisis relief? What options of support are available for artists and cultural workers in the current situation?
- What are the blind-spots and exclusions of these relief measures? Who does not have access to support?
- Where do we need to direct our attention in the future? What are necessary intervention points and/or spaces of agency?

The conversation will start with short inputs, followed by a collective discussion that everyone is welcome to join. The speakers are:

Dragana Alfirević is a performance artist, writer, curator and producer in the field of contemporary performing arts, working between practice, theory and activism. She is the co-founder of the international contemporary dance platform Nomad Dance Academy (NDA), the Belgrade-based STATION - Service for contemporary dance and the now defunct Kondenz Contemporary Dance Festival. She lives in Ljubljana since 2007, working with different organisations and artists, especially with the Nomad Dance Academy Slovenia and CoFestival.

Nastya Dmitrievskaya and Daria Iuriichuk are artists based in Moscow. In February 2020 they founded Kafe-Morozhenoe, a media-aсtivist group questioning working conditions in art, academia and activism in post-Soviet region. They are also part of a new initiative group in Russia that was created in response to Covid-19 crisis and brings together different art practitioners. The network has initiated a petition demanding income for artists, and organises nomadic discussions under the title "union of the multitude".

Tereza Stejskalová is a curator and art critic based in Prague. In 2011, she was the co-initiator of the initiative Call Against Zero Wage which raised issues about the economy of art production in Czech Republic. She was one of the founders of the artist union Skutek in 2013. With a group of artists, curators and critics, she has been working on the concept of Feminist (Art) Institution. She currently works for tranzit.org.

Raluca Voinea is a curator and art critic, based in Bucharest. Since 2012 she is co-director of tranzit.ro association, part of the tranzit.org network. From 2012 to 2019 she managed tranzit.ro space in Bucharest, which included an art gallery, a communitarian permaculture garden and an Orangery (a space for hosting fragile plants and ideas), all developed organically and in response to both the local context and to more international frameworks. The institution will relocate to another space in 2020. Since 2008 she is also co-editor of IDEA arts + society magazine.

The conversation is organised by Katalin Erdődi and Airi Triisberg.

The event is hosted by Precarity Office Vienna, an informal space for mutual advice and self-organisation. https://precarityoffice.wordpress.com
