Artist talk with Jaanus Sammaga

Estonian artist Jaanus Samma works at KORDON as this year's invited artist. The Artist Talk will take place on Saturday, September 20 at 16:00 at the KORDON Art Residency Ranna 1, Kärdla. All are very welcome!

Jaanus Samma is a contemporary artist who works with a range of media, including graphics, textiles and installations. His work draws inspiration from craft and history, and he has extensively researched issues concerning gender and nationality. Through archival research, he has expanded the conversation around national and sexual identity, offering alternative ways of interpreting the past. In KORDON Jaanus wants to get to know Hiiumaa and Kärdla better and, if possible, meet local craftsmen (especially in the field of textiles).
