“The Zoo on Enteropia” by Marleen Suvi

30.01.2025

Join us for the opening of Marleen Suvi’s solo exhibition “The Zoo on Enteropia” on Wednesday, February 5th, at 5 PM at Haapsalu City Gallery!

The exhibition will remain open until March 2nd.

Curator: Aleksander Metsamärt

When space traveler Ijon Tichy arrived on the planet Enteropia, he was shown to the zoo. The specimens at the zoological park were of the most remarkable kind, brought together from all four corners of the universe. The largest residents, the kurdles—massive beasts with bodies spanning acres—originated from Enteropia itself. However, the animals considered most special by the Enteropians were the graceful, charming creatures from planet Earth. Their fur gleamed and glistened like something from beyond the Schwarzschild radius, and their reactions were as quick as the speediest starfighters. It must also be noted that, unlike most species from their home planet, their digestion was not crude but rather dignified. Instead of ingesting their meals through fleshy, grotesque tubes, these creatures fed by regurgitating gracefully onto objects and surfaces.

Regrettably, the narrow-mindedness of Earthlings knows no bounds when it comes to valuing their planet’s diverse natural environment. Therefore, it is a great pleasure, in collaboration with Enteropia’s Interplanetary Ministry and Diplodomatic Representatives, to introduce one of the most beloved inhabitants of the Enteropian zoological gardens to the audience of the Northern European Riviera in Haapsalu.

Welcome to the Zoo on Enteropia!
