Terje Ojaver - Dance of Decieved News Open call: Internship at the Estonian Pavilion of the 60th Venice biennale

Apply for the internship positions for the Estonian Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennale! The duration of the internship is two months, the applicant chooses the period between April until the end of November 2022. 

The tasks include: guarding the pavilion and introducing the Estonian Pavilion exhibition and works by Edith Karlson, selling catalogs, keeping the pavilion in working order and mediating what is happening at the exhibition grounds to the CCA team. Depending on the chosen timeframe, some interns will have the possibility to join the installation or deinstallation teams and to experience the biennale press and professional days.

There would be 3 interns in Venice at once, 2 of whom would guard the pavilion during one day. There is the opportunity to get acquainted with the Venice Biennale as well as all other exhibitions opened in the city of Venice.

We expect that the internship candidate:

- Is fluent in English; knowledge of other languages, especially Italian, is an advantage
- Has knowledge on Estonian art and culture scene
- Is motivated to introduce the exhibition and the works of Edith Karlson to the international audience
- Is capable to introduce Estonia and its cultural scene to the visitors
- Works well independently as well as together with others

The intern applies for ERASMUS + traineeship grant through their university. The grant varies according to the university. The grant is also eligible for 2022 graduates. Students who complete their internship will receive university EAP/ECTS. For this call, CCA has previous agreements with Estonian Academy of Arts and Pallas University of Applied Sciences. It is also possible to apply from other universities.

The Venice Biennale is the oldest and largest art event in the world. Estonia has been participating with its pavilion since 1997 and for the upcoming, 60th Venice Biennale, Estonia exhibits a project by artist Edith Karlson. The pavilion will be located in the city of Venice. Estonian CCA has been commissioning and producing the Estonian Pavilion since 1999.

The part-time internship program is an opportunity for students to gain work experience and become acquainted with the international art field, and is part of CCA’s goal to create more paid internship opportunities within the cultural field. Estonian students have been working regularly in Venice Biennale’s Estonian Pavilion since 2013.
