The CURATORIAL PROGRAM FOR RESEARCH announces its OPEN CALL for HELLO NEW YORK! Artist Residency
The Curatorial Program for Research (CPR) is pleased to announce its open call for artists to participate in Hello New York! Our second residency is a professional development and networking program that aims to assist artists in getting to know the complex and vibrant art scene that exists in New York City. Our second edition will be hosted by local institutions, artists and independent curators, and gathers a cohort of fifteen local and international artists. Residents meet key players within the dense New York art ecosystem, with a robust programming that offers daily visits to artist studios and local art institutions, and is complemented by readings about local socio-political history, arts, and culture.
The program intends to present and explore all the moving parts of the New York City art scene. Thus, it will offer daily visits to artists' studios and local art establishments, such as galleries of various profiles, museums and foundations. Participants will be able to meet other working artists; from the young and emerging artists exhibiting in contemporary galleries, to instructors, designers, and performers. Hello New York! will also set a common ground for getting to know local curators, artists residencies and programs, and will propose sessions on grant writing, social media and portfolio preparation.
The Open Call is due August 15th, 2022. The selected residents will attend a two-week, full-time program (October 10th-23rd, 2022), meeting with local professionals including but not limited to local and international artists, gallerists, curators, collectors, residency programs, museum professionals and art historians.
