The winners of the international artistic bookbinding exhibition-competition Scripta manent VI „Forestonia. Estwald. Mine Metsa!“ have been announced

On Friday 11 September, ARS Art Factory was the venue for a seminar in the programme of the International Artistic Bookbinding Exhibition “Scripta manent VI”. It was followed by the festive opening of the exhibition where authors of the prize-winning entries were announced. 129 artists from 15 countries sent their works to the exhibition. The jury composed of Ilizane Grinberga, Valdur Mikita, Lennart Mänd, Karin Paulus, Anne Pikkov and Tarja Rajakangas selected three equally eye-catching bindings which were awarded the grand prize. Ten bindings were acknowledged with incentive prizes. An additional special prize was handed out in the category of technique mastery and two best student artefacts received honourable mention.
 
The Golden Books were conferred on Tiina Kraav (Estonia/Finland), Hannah Loibl (Germany) and Caroline Seidel (Switzerland). Incentive prizes were granted to Keiko Fujii (Japan), Külli Grünbach-Sein, Lore Hübotter (Germany), Loit Jõekalda, Lolita Katkovska (Latvia), Leelo Leesi, Miguel Perez Fernandes (Spain), Rahel Scheufele (Germany), Tiiu Vijar, Jan Peter Zimmerlich (Switzerland). Special prize for technique: Marcus Janssens (Germany). Students: Dina Aller (Estonian Academy of Arts) and Anni Vallsalu (Pallas).
 
The prize fund was supported through contribution of their creative compositions by Estonian artists Ehalill Halliste, Aino Jakobi, Kelli Kagovere, Tarrvi Laamann, Tiia Külv, Sirje Kriisa, Regina Lukk, Viive Noor, Jaan Pärn, Eve Selisaar and Kärt Seppel. Prizes were allocated by Enn Jaanisoo, Estonian Tannery (Jõgeva nahavabrik) Skineks LLC and Zelluloos Paper Shop.
 
The exhibition will be open to the public in the Project Room of ARS Art Factory (Pärnu mnt 154) until 3 October, Mon–Fri from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sat–Sun from 12 a.m. to 4 p.m.
