Submission of works for the annual exhibition of Tartu art 2024 has started!

The title of this year’s annual exhibition is “Multisurrealism” and the author of the idea and designer of the exhibition is Martti Ruus. Works can be submitted until 20 November 2024 at www.kunstimaja.ee

Surrealism was born 100 years ago in troubled times, and today it has been transformed into multisurrealism.

We can look at the existing surrealist art as the starting point of a multisurrealist world. We are trying to decode the brave new world through the visual art prism. How to imagine the unimaginable, to walk in parallel reality from time to time and to look beyond light years is only a fraction of the elements of the multisurreal world.

All the static visual art techniques known today are invited to the annual exhibition. Preference will be given to works that hang peacefully on the wall.

Each artist can submit up to 3 works for the exhibition. Preferably in different formats. For example, larger max 120 × 120 cm. Medium ca 80 × 80 cm. Small ca 40 × 40 cm.

The idea for the exhibition, which will open on 20 December 2024, was conceived and designed by the painter Martti Ruus.

The deadline for submissions is midnight 20 November 2024 and works can be submitted at www.kunstimaja.ee

Members of the board of the Tartu Artists’ Union will help in the selection of the works.

As in previous years, you can also put your works up for sale in the NOBA art environment.

In addition, two prizes will be awarded at this year’s annual exhibition, supported by Tart art collectors Veljo Ipits, Reigo Kuivjõgi and Margus Punab. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to vote for an audience award and the jury will select an incentive prize for a young artist. Both prizes have a monetary value of €3000.
