Mery Crystal Ra's artist talk at the exhibition "Royal Visit to the Golden Waterfall" will take place on Thursday, August 13 at 5 pm at Tokko&Arrak Gallery, Teachers' House, Raekoja plats 14 on the topic "Mery Crystal Ra's global transformation of paintings into interdisciplinary, human kinetic sculptures and monumental objects". The talk will be attended by art historian and artist Kaire Nurk, choreographer, dancer, poet and critic Sveta Grigorjeva, interdisciplinary artist and interior architect Tea Tammelaan and interdisciplinary painter, light-human kinetic sculptor and monumental artist Mery Crystal Ra. The artist talk is dedicated to painter Silvia Jõgever and art historian Reet Varblane.  

The Bootmaker. Solo exhibition by Paul Rodgers  12.08-12.09.2026 Paul Rodgers’ solo exhibition “The Bootmaker” will be open at gallery Pallas from Wednesday, 12 August. Spanning two floors of the gallery, the exhibition brings together works created specifically for the show as well as pieces from earlier periods of the artist’s career. The main hall on the gallery’s ground floor will feature a series of works created by Rodgers over the past year specifically for the exhibition in Tartu. Comprising sculptural objects, photographs, videos and texts, the series explores the artist’s personal memories and the influences of growing up in post-war England. Rodgers also examines the impact these emotional experiences and memories have had on the artist.

Until 9 August, the international group exhibition “Triumph of Galatea: Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” is on view in the Contemporary Art Gallery on the 5th floor of Kumu Art Museum. On Saturday, 8 August, we will celebrate the exhibition with a special finissage programme featuring the following events: 13:00–14:00 Curator’s Tour of the exhibition "Triumph of Galatea: Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence", Anders Härm, in English

On Friday, July 31st, the Pärnu Artists’ House is holding an Open House Day!  On this day, artists will open the doors to their studios, giving visitors an opportunity to peek behind the scenes of the creative process. You can also purchase unique artworks directly from the creators on-site: paintings, ceramics, books, and much more. Of course, our exhibitions will also be open! Opening on August 5 at 17.00 Curated by Lieven Lahaye and Anu Vahtra Can’t Do Hard Sun Whim brings together artists and designers whose work relates in different ways to ideas of light and wear – either as material processes or conceptual conditions. Light can be seen as a physical phenomenon as well as a condition of visibility and perception; wear as a force for erosion and transformation, as well as an act of carrying, inhabiting or being worn. Through wearable sculpture, monoprint, quilt, cyanotype, slideshow, video and installation, the exhibition explores how materials, bodies and images are transformed through time, contact and environmental conditions.
